On Monday 28th August, a group of 21 Form 4 and Form 5 students together with Mr Clive Piscopo and Ms Amanda Smith, our English Teachers left to Stratford-upon-Avon, England, to attend a course at Shakespeare Birthplace.
During their stay, they are going to follow a study-course on the works of William Shakespeare with particular focus on three of his major plays, mainly ‘Titus Andronicus’, ‘Antony and Cleopatra’ and Julius Caesar at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
The jam-packed course ranges, among other things, from talks by experts in the field to a drama workshop, from visits to Shakespeare-related historical places to a wig and theatre make-up demonstration, and from a voice-class with the Royal Shakespeare Company to a question and answer session with an actor from the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company.
The group is also particularly looking forward to watch three performances of Shakespeare’s plays by the RSC as these will crown such an eclectic study-course and undoubtedly bring the Shakespeare plays to life.
We sincerely wish them the school trip of a lifetime!
