A group of 19 students and 3 teachers from College Francois Raspail, Carpentras, France have just landed to start their week-long stay in Malta. This group will join a number of students and teachers arriving from Spain next Tuesday together with students and teachers from our school to work on the Comenius Project 'Together Against Violence'.
The French team stay will start this evening with a visit to the silent city of Mdina. Tomorrow, weather-permitting, they will visit the island of Gozo together with students from St Michael School. Then, next Monday they will be greeted at St Michael School and meet all the students and staff. Let us make all these students and teachers feel most welcome in our home!
On Wednesday 4th February at 2.45 p.m. the results of the Half Yearly Examinations were posted at the Central Mail Office of the MaltaPost.
It was a relatively long process of correcting, checking, inputting marks, printing and enveloping. Thanks to our teachers and secretarial staff, this laborious exercise was completed as scheduled.
We congratulate all those students who worked hard and were well prepared for these examinations.
The day which is dedicated to the annual fund raising event, the marathon walk is a day in which our boys manifest their resilience. The minute the enter school, they run to join their friends to play football. It is the only day, except for the last day before the Christmas holidays that they can start playing this early.
This rhythm keeps on going until the assembly bell calls everyone to line-up for the morning prayers, the announcements and the much awaited amount of the sum of money that the students managed to collect.
Albert Busuttil, Luke Farrugia and Lee Camilleri students from our EcoSchool Committee on Friday 19th February participated in an Eco Education Programme. This programme was broadcasted live on our National Radio Station. These students were accompanied by Mr Joseph Savona, our EcoSchool Activities Coordinator.
The European Commission Representation in Malta invited Mr Anthony Caruana, Assistant Headmaster and our EU Projects Coordinator for a two day information visit to Brussels between the 14th and 16th February.
On Monday the programme will include the following meetings: A presentation by Mr. Jaime ANDREU (Head of Unit: Visits to the Commission) on the Political Priorities of the Barroso II Commission.
We take this opportunity to congratulate all those who worked hard and prepared well for the Half-Yearly Examinations.
If you are unfortunate to have had a bad exam experience, put it behind you as there is nothing you can now do. The best thing you can do is to get back to the books for some more revision.
If you believe your last exams went well, well done. However, you must also put it behind you as you need to focus on the work of the following months. A good performance in one session does not guarantee a good result next time.
