On Thursday 23rd September morning our teachers and LSEs gathered at school to start a new scholastic year. In particular, this year will be a special one because we shall be celebrating the 75th anniversary of St Michael School. The day started off with mass, celebrated by Fr Carl Sultana. All the staff was invited to attend. Soon after mass, Superior Ruben Pace, the chairman of the School Board of Directors, gave a short speech followed by a message delivered from Roberto Zammit, the new Superior General of the Museum Society who was appointed last August. Superior Zammit thanked all the members of staff not only for their hard work and dedication but also for what they represent. Afterwards, Mr. Raymond D’Amato, the Head of School, noted some important points which the staff should follow.
After a short informal break, a mindfulness exercise was conducted. Information on the outcome of the teacher’s evaluation and on new students with special needs was pointed out. Tomorrow the teachers shall be preparing the classes and meet in groups to discuss how to work according to their subjects.
We would like to wish all our staff members a year of hard work and dedication.
