This years’ Christmas celebrations were spread on a number of days during which we tried to do our very best to offer our staff and students a spiritual, social, educational and recreational experience synonymous with our tradition and to our school ethos.
We started off the celebrations with every form gathering for prayer time. Wednesday morning the Form 1 and 2 students took part in the procession carrying Baby Jesus from the school ground to the hall whilst the school band accompanied this procession with traditional Christmas melodies. Fr Carl Sultana celebrated mass for the school community who were all gathered together in the school hall.
After mass, a group of 280 students participated in twelve different groups of voluntary work. Indeed, a positive experience for everyone! Thursday morning the students met in their class for the Christmas party. This lasted for two hours and afterwards everyone gathered in the school hall to watch the most awaited St Michael Got Talent. This activity kicked off by a comedy sketch prepared by our fifth formers. They presented a discussion where they played the role of various teachers. This was followed by a number of students and staff who danced, sang and played musical instruments. A good number of ex-students came along to watch this popular annual event at school and share their experiences with us.
Friday 20th December was reserved for the staff. After the very busy days preparing for Christmas at school, it was now time for a well-deserved! All staff gathered at the St Paul’s Bay MUSEUM for a reflection and prayer session. At noon everyone gathered together for Christmas lunch. In the end the Headmaster thanked all staff members for the work they do and wished them a Blessed Christmas with their loved ones whilst enjoying their holidays. It was an enjoyable day together indeed!
During days like these we feel blessed to be part of such an environment where peace could be felt as we celebrated these days as one family. Finally, the Headmaster wished a Happy Christmas and happy holidays to everyone.
We wish you all a holy Christmas and a year of blessings.
