On Tuesday 11th December, 2018 our School celebrated the Christmas Concert and Awards Celebration for Scholastic Year 2017/2018. After an introduction from compere Gabriel Muscat, one of our 5th year students, the program kicked off by the singing of the famous Christmas carol ‘Ninni la Tibkix Izjed’ from the Form 1 and 2 students, followed by a solo piece ‘O Holy Night’ sung by Matteo Mifsud.
The program continued with the highlight of the evening: the musical drama written by Maltese teacher Mr Darrell Pace – ‘O Lejl ta’ Skiet 200(0) sena ilu’ This musical, based on a true story, tells how this popular hymn was originated. A number of students and members of staff got together for the past weeks to work on this original musical. The setting up of the scenes was coordinated by Mr Victor Trapani and the setting up of the stage and the hall was coordinated by Mr Carmel Caruana. Mr Tonio Callus our drama teacher Mr Tonio Callus directed this musical.
Next up was a Drums Call by a group of students directed by Abner Farrugia another student from our school.
The evening proceeded with the distribution of Form 1 and 2 certificates followed by an address by Mr Joseph Trapani, ex student and Engineer and Masters Entrapreneurship graduate. After another Christamas carol sung by our students, Mr Ian Mifsud, Director at the Secretariat for Catholic Education distributed the Form 3 and 4 certificates. Mr Mifsud also addressed those present. The evening came to an end by a short address from the Headmaster, Mr Raymond D’Amato who invited everyone to proceed downstairs for a sweet treat – a mince pie and a warm drink. A group of students entertained the school corridors with strumental Christmas songs.
