Unlike previous years, this year the Parliamentary session where students from EcoSchool committees meet with the members of Parliament could not be held.

Instead, this year, a different session was held.  On the International Environment Day, seven students from seven different schools were invited to prepare questions to ask to Minister Aaron Farrugia, Minister for the Environment.

This session took place at Casa Leone in Santa Venera.  Our school was one of the seven schools chosen and Miguel Gauci a Form 4 student and President of the EcoSchool Committee at St Michael School asked the following interesting questions.

  1. Hon Minister, do you plan to start using an electric car in the near future?
  2. Our School, St. Michael, organised an outing to Ghajn Tuffieha last December, were we cleaned the beach from microplastics and plastic in general. Hon Minister, are any measures being taken to decrease the amount of plastic which is being thrown in the sea and on the sand?

The fact that our school has been chosen for this session is of encouragement to our students inspiring them to keep on working towards a better environment.
