Yesterday all the staff at our school gathered in the school hall for an organised program to end the first term at school. All the necessary precautions were taken to organise this event which started off with mass celebrated by Rev Dr Carl M Sultana, who offers his service to the school throughout the whole year.
After mass, Mr Darrel Pace, coordinated a meaningful celebration entitled, ‘Xemgħa Ddub’ meaning ‘Melting Candle’. We all enjoyed the prepared feature which portrayed the reality we are living in. This ended with messages by a number of our students who transmitted hope during these festive days. To compliment this celebration a couple of Christmas songs were sung by Mr Busuttil, Mr Pace and Mr Xuereb. After a short break for coffee, members of staff were invited to write down their wishes and light a small candle. This was a simple but very significant exercise.
Members of staff then gathered in the ground for lunchtime which was followed by some informal time in the hall where Mr Chris Aquilina, one of our Assistant Heads conducted a recreative program where staff played games and shared some laughs. To end this day, we recorded a video for our students and parents which will be launched in the coming days…so stay tuned!! 😊
